Heading to Nodaway

A mounted photo of the bikers headed to Nodaway on July 20, 2009. Photographer Julie Wainwright captured the beauty of the ride and the huge number of bikers in a stunning photograph. It measures 20x24 and is mounted on a Sintra board. It shows a steady stream of bikers from the Villisca square as far as the eye can see on the hills toward Nodaway. A great gift for a biker or for someone who just wants a beautiful scenic with a special twist.

Thanks to all those in Villisca who worked to make the day so successful.

Chris Gibler was on hand to entertain with music and his gift of gab.

We promised a colorful time in Villisca. Some of the bikers helped provide the color - here is one at our sign in board.

WildBlue and Johnston Communications will be providing Internet access in Villisca. Villisca Farmers Telephone are putting lines in our community building to provide landline phone access.

Tyson foods provided some of the breakfast foods that other vendors shyed away from because of the Food Safety Regulations. 75% of what they made in profit that day will come back to Villisca's Interchurch Food Pantry and 25% will go to a national poverty program. We appreciate the many vendors who worked hard to offer food to the bikers. Here the Schut family offered milk and cookies, Gatorade and other drinks. The vendor fees helped with the costs of the day including the porta pots and the free bike repair kits that we offered to the first 544 bikers with the official RAGBRAI braclets that showed up at the free stuff stand

WE THANK THE FOLLOWING BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS FOR PROVIDING SERVICES AS RAGBRAI COMES THROUGH
